Sukima Switch ( スキマスイッチ ), the talented Japanese duo known for their soft melodies. This band has not only captured the hearts of Japanese music lovers but also left an indelible mark on the world of Japanese dramas, most notably with their contributions to the popular series “Ossan’s Love.”

Sukima Switch was formed in 1999 by two gifted japanese individuals, Takuya Ohashi and Shintaro Tokita. Ohashi, the vocalist and guitarist, possesses a soulful voice that resonates with listeners, while Tokita, the keyboardist and producer, brings a unique blend of musical expertise and creativity to the duo.
Their name, Sukima Switch, translates to “Gap Switch”, however, this doesn’t have a known deep meaning.
One of the favorite contributions has to be their work on the beloved Japanese drama “Ossan’s Love.” The theme songs they created for the series are just perfect; they really capture the show’s heart—love in all its purest and most surprising forms. Their music beautifully complements the unfolding drama, adding emotional depth to the story and connecting with viewers on a deeper level.
“Ossan’s Love” is truly a groundbreaking series! It dives into themes of love, identity, and self-acceptance, challenging societal norms along the way. The complexities of human relationships are portrayed so wonderfully. With Sukima Switch’s involvement, the storytelling gets an extra boost, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone who watches and listens!
Their song “Revival” became an anthem for the show, capturing the spirit of hope and renewal that defines “Ossan’s Love.” The lyrics, combined with the duo’s signature sound, create an atmosphere of warmth and emotional depth that resonates with audiences far and wide.
Although the duo has won a couple of awards, the “Revival” got them a nomination and second place in votes at the 97th The Television Drama Academy Awards, in 2018.
