The perfect boyfriend? Could it be real or is it just fiction?

Is it a robot? Is it a man? No, it’s the Absolute boyfriend (2008) !  I am joking, it is a robot!

I found a representation of society today. The real world and the dream world a love robot and sex robot the similarities to human body but in the Drama there is no sex scenes … You pervert! (joking :P)

However, the similarities between the drama and the real world in Japan exist. Did you know some people got married to Holograms, video game characters, and so on? No I am not joking , it’s real news over there, try to google “ the strangest marriages”.

And it’s not the only strange thing on this drama, of course, japanese come up with curious english names that don’t take part in their past history or mythology . Kronos Heaven , the company in our Jdrama story that’s testing the new love robot model. To test it , they go to the streets to find one that finds the robot a good use. In my perspective this also means , they are looking for the most desperate to be in love and have a relationship, like Riiko, the typical Salarywoman who does pastry like no other. When she receives Night Tenjo, the love robot , she finds herself trying to live as normal life as possible, while falling in love with her Manager , Soshi.

After many challenges and hardships, the Robot, Night, suffers many damages, while trying to help Riiko, in the name of their love. As the ultimate shutdown approaches, Night, who now understands the real meaning of love, figures out that Riiko’s Manager, Soshi, also loves her. So Night decides to leave a message to request for him to look after Riiko after he is gone.

Robot, or not, Night and Soshi shows the very essence of thru love. Sometimes even if we love with all our strength,  we need to let it go because the person we love the most happiness is the most important thing to guarantee. I wish there was more like that around the world! Just a little more of good vibes and right people.

ai

In Japanese, both “ai (愛)” and “koi (恋)” can be roughly translated as “love” in English.

HANA KIMI (2007)

Flowers and Boys – Hana Kimi – LGTB friendly

Let’s start with the basics!

It starts with the typical worship idol-groupies around high-schools!

The High schools in this drama are the all girls schools or all boys schools with minimal socialization between themselves. And of course, the female-only schools are represented by the Queen-bees of the area.

The drama starts with a transfer student from America. And the lack of knowledge of the outside world creates the stereotype , Americans are blonde , have blue eyes and big muscles. Or a jack bauer, a fictional character secret spy from a US fictional series.

Hard time reading kanji? Don’t feel bad! All boys schools can`t read names in Kanji, as well. If you aware of the Japanese Proficiency level test, I challenge you to go on Youtube and search : JLPT N1 Japanese try to answer. On the drama, they clearly dont really study so its not surprising they can’t read the names in Kanji. Learning Hiragana is easy, But learning Kanji is a life commitment.

First impressions, the transfer student, Ashiya Mizuki, arrives and suffers the typical praxis bullying. Ashiya made the first mistake by putting the shoes in the wrong place. In her thoughts, she reveals the former athlete and now classmate, Sano Izumi, is the reason she disguised herself to enter an all boys school.

Speaking of school, the excessive need to make someone participate in a school-club like Theater, or Karate, just to win a prize at the end of the year , like free desserts.

On a curious level , a LGTB is already shows up , in spite the drama, being from 2007 and an adaptation from the Manga series in 1996 with the same name. In the end, it isn’t weird that the translation of the Hana Kimi is ¨For You in Full Blossom¨. This meaning has more than one meaning starting with the timeline of the drama and the typical new school year in Japan`s that starts in Spring. It also represents the growth the boys go through. Even the principal at a certain point says “I ask myself what type of flowers will bloom in our school this year”. It would be weird if the story only mentioned the typical masculine as flowers, but considering all the details inside the drama, this is a must watch LGTB friendly and funny Drama!
